Making fluid-simulation with blender
Some time ago I published pictures showing me making fluid-simulation using Blender. Now I show step-by-step how you can make your own simulation. You have to know just the basics of Blender like how to add objects, how to move them and how to change their size. I hope this guide is useful.
Here is sample video witch shows what will you can do with this guide:
Open Blender and zoom the already-made cube some and change to Wireframe mode.
Insert one cube inside the square (Add -> Mesh -> Cube). Change back to Object mode and add another cube. Edit the cubes like you can see in the picture below
Choose the upper cube. This cube will be water which drops at the lower cube. Choose "Object" from the bottom panel and "Physics buttons" under it (look at the picture below). Click "Enable" on tab "Fluid Simulation" and select "Fluid".
Time for the second cube: enable "Fluid" simulation for it too but this time choose "Obstacle" mode. Now choose the bigger cube and set "Domain" instead of "Fluid". Water will be dropping inside this cube. Make new folder with Blender's filebrowser and select it. Program calculates physics to this folder and there will be about 600 files. DO NOT REMOVE THEM BEFORE THE SIMULATION IS COMPLETED ! You won't need them anymore when it is completed.
Now we better go and shorten the simulation time: Go to "Scene" menu which is under the rendering buttons and set value End to 200.

Now we're going to start larger calculation process. Close every other program and click "Bake" button. Blender stops and no longer responds to your commands, but if you want to stop the program, hit Esc. The simulation takes about two minutes which of course depends on the processor.
The biggest cube is gone. You can watch the simulation by pressing ALT+A. When you've had your time watching the simulation we are going to render much more impressive edition. Chooce the cube around the fluid and move it to second layer. When you have chosen the cube hit M and choose other layer and click OK. The cube should be gone.
Now choose impressive place by using the selector. Camera to right place and start render with F12. So that the water would look more like water we must edit it a bit. From here you can find water's values; choose the water, give the values and start new rendering with F12.
You can download the video, or the blend-file.
Also .avi file!
If you can't open videos?, try VLC. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
